  I've been attending Scott Shields Martial Arts Academy for a number of years now. It is the third martial arts school I've attended, and once I started here, I knew it was where I'd stay. It far surpasses the other schools I attended. There's something for everyone here, young, old, male, female. There are a number of different art styles depending on a person's interest, and the school is so well-rounded in terms of both stand up and ground training. You will learn and increase your skills at a level that is comfortable to you personally. The people here are salt of the earth and the most loyal and respectful that I've ever encountered (and funny). It truly is like a family. This is also where I have had the pleasure to have trained with some of the best martial artists I've ever seen. Head instructor Shields has trained with some of the best known teachers in the world, and he never stops learning himself. As amazingly skilled as he is, he's humble and completely approachable and will make you feel welcome and special. This place helps keep me in top physical shape and has continually increased my confidence over the years. I verbally recommend this school to everyone when I'm out and about. Do yourself a favor.

  I think I enjoy being here since the moment I got to do my free kickboxing class. I didn't have to sign anything or pay. First class is free to let you to get a feel for the place. I felt a good vibe. Everyone is friendly here and so willing to help. No one here is going to judge you about anything except to just get better which happens with every new class that you take because any persons taking a martial art can always improve. It's like a small family here and from just the 2 months that I have been here has kept growing with more people checking out classes every few weeks. Bottom line is that Sifu Shields and Miss Ashley are great instructors and know what they are talking about. I recommend this place to anybody who wants to train or just learn good self defense techniques to help you out in any physical altercation that could ever occur.
